One very
difficult challenge the coronavirus pandemic has presented us with is how to
foster a sense of community among students and staff in a socially distanced
world. This is not just important to support teaching and learning but also
to promote wellbeing within our communities. The aim of this talk is to
introduce colleagues to five successful community engagement projects run by
the Department of Psychology in the 2020/21 academic year. It will address a
buddy system, a book club, a charity sports challenge, a video series, and
discussions about diversity and inclusion.
Part of the Learning and Teaching Conference 2021 Series.
