Classroom learning of leadership has for long been disputed. Can leadership be taught? Can leadership skills be learnt in a classroom? The Future Global Leader Fellowship program at KCL was formed with a vision to support postgraduate students to become future leaders with global problem-solving mindsets and a shared vision to make the world a better place.
This year, however, presented us with new challenges. In addition to the challenge of learning leadership within four walls of the classroom, the COVID-19 pandemic brought about unprecedented circumstances. The debate now became – can leadership skills be taught virtually?
The fellows of 2020-2021 have experienced this unique postgraduate leadership program in this new and unprecedented way; They discuss and share their experiences of learning about global leadership together during this challenging year and pave way for how leadership can be taught in a new way.
