After
the initial response of the COVID pandemic died down, it allowed for more
innovative redesigns for KEATS training sessions. The most advanced KEATS
session (KEATS 3: Personalising the Learning Experience) was redesigned as a
completely flipped session with attendees completing all activities before
joining as a group to share thoughts and ideas about the features that had
just been explored. This format was popular, but attendees often missed that
pre session work needed to be completed and the one-hour synchronous
discussion was ultimately pointless when a large proportion of the cohort had
not completed the pre-session work.
Microsoft Power Automate was explored as a solution to prompt attendees to
complete the pre-session work, but the remit grew once the capabilities of
Power Automate were explored and the whole process became automised.
This session gives an overview of the KEATS 3: Personalising the Learning
Experience training session, how Power Automate runs alongside the session to
automate the admin processes, and the lessons learned/challenges overcome as
this alternative was explored.
