Bio
Lina Malagón joined the Transitional Justice Institute (TJI) at the University of Ulster in 2020 as a Research Associate in the project Socio-economic rights and Transitions, developing research on case studies of Northern Ireland, Sri Lanka, Colombia, and Sierra Leone. As part of the research team, Lina belongs to The UKRI GCRF Gender, Justice and Security Hub. Lina´s career has balanced academic scholarship, with work as a researcher, litigant, and developing advocacy in conflict-affected and post-conflict countries.
Her work is based on interdisciplinary research on transitional justice and peacebuilding in Colombia and other countries. Lina's research interests are in the areas of transformative transitional justice, gender, victims, peacebuilding, socio-economic and cultural rights, environmental peace-building and human and labour rights.
