Saturday 23 April marks 400 years since the death of William Shakespeare, with people around the world celebrating his global influence. In this video, experts on Shakespeare, Professor Gordon McMullan and Dr Lucy Munro from the Department of English, speak about Kings involvement in the Shakespeare400 celebrations, Kings own Shakespearean legacy and the playwrights lasting influence on London and global culture and creativity. By me William Shakespeare: A life in writing offers a once-in-a-generation opportunity to explore Shakespeares will, alongside other unique documents that witness his life. Through original research, scientific analysis and a new digital installation, the exhibition looks at why these documents were created and what they tell us about the worlds most famous playwright. The exhibition runs until 29 May 2016 at the Inigo Rooms, Somerset House East Wing.
